I think a better solution would be for the 2 or 3 sqds mentioned( or the ones with lower numbers) to combine forces to make one nice size squad that would be a contribution to the leagues as they would most suridly field a full sqd.

TEA
BBC
Raven

1 nice full fielded sqd ready for league play!

BSS was short most of the league as well, so maybe combine two of the 3 aforementioned and the third joins in with BSS.

Just a thought, not that it will happen. I would just like to see new sqds fully fielded to compete!!!

I'm courageous (stupid, ignorant, brazen) enough to offer an expansion of Vipor's idea. After all I'm accustomed to being shot down both in the arenas and the forums.  crazy

Perhaps the small squads could maintain their individual identities for purposes of leadership and social activity but agree to having their best pilots fly in a match only team. Kind of like real life sports clubs provide players for regional or national competitions. Choice of a name is open for suggestion but perhaps it could be known as the USAAC match squad.

A combination of the best pilots from say, BSS, BBC and TEA, perhaps even independent pilots also, would offer a formidable challenge to the existing established squads. This could be a great incentive for pilots in the small squads to compete for a place on such a team.

As a separate issue but along the same lines I think it would be a wonderful idea to have an international league with US, UK and GE fielding their best pilots to defend the honor of their respective countries.

Just a thought which might be worth tossing around.

Apologies guys for being a bit late in my response but I reside on the other side of the pond and although I pop in here on a regular basis to catch up with all the gossip it appears I missed this one lol, and have just recently been informed which is actually probably a good thing as its given me a chance to read the entire thread.

To be honest there appears to be a few inaccuracies of the thread bearer however we do have an ex TEA pilot in our squad who is young and who has found it difficult settling into a squad but he seems to of found a happy home within BBC, (we love him dearly).
Here he shall stay unless he “chooses” otherwise lol

It was my understanding that this pilot had contacted the powers that be at TEA and informed them that he would like to leave their squad and join, BBC which  appears to be bore out by TEA bonz .
However I do except heavy criticism in the way I handled the situation and with the benefit of hindsight I should have contacted the C/O as a matter of politeness.

I would like to state that it is not our policy nor is it our intentions to steal or poach any existing squad members, I also apologise wholeheartedly to TEA for any inconvenience or upset I may have caused and hope we can build on this and forge a friendship for the future.

BBC’s C/O is currently offline and has been for some time which will explain why he has not returned any PM’s and such like.

I myself have fairly recently returned to AA after a long absence and found myself joining BBC only to find the position of X/O being thrust upon me after only a short time (which is fine, maybe sooner than I would of liked but saleve). It seems BBC have been through some turbulent times…
It is my long-term intention, along with the C/O to rebuild them (we have the technology lol) to make them great again as they once were but to do it with integrity, so sorry if I got off on the wrong foot.

Finally:
If anyone would like to discuss any of the above via TS, please do, I’m easily found here as I spend far too much time on this silly old game that I care for so much.

A very apologetic
BBC X/O Mutley

P.s. BBC is currently recruiting.
Existing squad members need not apply lol

Well done guys. Nicely resolved.  thumbsup

Also remember, of course not to steal any more 14 year olds from the Fighting Dragons if you don't want to be roasted in an indignant breath of fire.  biggrin

I think that maybe Vipor and Aegle between them may have come up with something that is worth further consideration..give it some thought.

There is another option open to BBC, BSS and TEA if they wanted to try this. It has worked in the past and can work again.

Many years ago when playing FA and I was CO of BBC, we also had a problem with pilots attending matches. We forged many friends within FA and found we were not the only squad with this problem.

There was another squad that we became very good friends with called War Eagles Squadron (WES). Knowing they had a similar issue we decided to bring both squads together for matches and formed a "league" squad. This league squad was a combination of BBC and WES pilots called War Boyz (WBz).

This got 2 new squads out of trouble and enabled both squads to field enough pilots to play against some of the top squads. In those days it was nothing to have 12 or more pilots show for matches and both BBC and WES struggled to meet these demands by themselves.

Once WBz was formed it grew into a formidable squad, but each squad still remained an individual entity with both squads growing in their own right.

This might be something these squads might want to think about........form a "league" squad and be part of the fun.
