Have you ever heard this said in some variation: "I wish it was like the old days with hundreds of pilots in Teams.. .. "??

I hear people say this and often wonder to myself "what are you doing to make that dream come true?". So many enjoy the work of so few. Pity.. but very few AA pilots put anything at all back into the system. Observation shows that its ez to criticize and tear apart what the 'few' have done.

I don't have the time.. I don't have the time.
These same folks I see in AA 7-12+ per week yet they don't have 1 hour a week to donate to the USAAC or some worthwhile effort for AA?

I don't have the expertise.. I don't have the knowledge.
We can teach a monkey to fly better than that..
Fact is.. we can teach you. Its not rocket science.
Maybe you do have talents.. and don't realize we can put that talent to work ..

Step up.. lend a hand. Its your USAAC too.

Perhaps we should bear in mind that the members of USAAC are squads, not individuals. If there is a need for volunteers for any particular purpose the onus should be on squad CO's to try and find these volunteers from within their ranks and encourage them to step forward.

Squad CO's and members may have little interest in USAAC because they are mainly interested in flying and competing and see no need to participate in USAAC affairs. It should be borne in mind though that there would be no game to fly in and no competitions to compete in if it were not for the volunteers who organize these things.

Just as squads appoint people to represent them in USAAC decision making they should also provide people to assist wherever needed; event hosts, league referees and any other functions that may arise from time to time.

By the way what is happening to the Independent Pilot Group? Is that being pursued? Have enough people registered? I believe there are a large number of pilots eligible to register. Why are they not doing so? Is there going to be an opportunity to vote for someone to represent the group?

If you can read this.. your here.. and you can help out.

If you don't care to help the USAAC.. then help another community. If you don't care to help with any community.. then you can help a new pilot all on your own. Squads do help out.. but it still comes down to individuals..

Oh.. and what about the IPG that wants to be involved so badly?

Would it be that some are getting discontent with slow progress?

Slow progress? On the part of the USAAC? I was lead to believe that the USAAC has done all its part for the IPG and did so rather quickly.

Slow progress for individuals? Wut mean? :)

Elaborate.. I'm sure Staff and Company at USAAC would want to quicken that pace and fix anything that is astray..
