throwing in my 2 cents
Its not a cheat agreed...do i care who used it in the past...no dont care.
do i want it stay in the games fetures...NO...
i dont want every 1 see how i do my hacked turns   eek6  (jk btw) or is it Tongue

The only advantage i can see to this tool is training rookies apart from that remove it.
really u have 2 otherwise no sitting on runway in matchs at US base 4 reasons stated above.

WITCH  HUNT not required if those that used it in the past, cant use it now then there back 2 square 1
...LEVEL PLAYING FIELD....  biggrin

see u in the skys

What I believe needs to be understood is the fact that this feature was built into the game for all to use but does not show it on the in game menu when you hit the F1 key.

It is not for us to judge any abuse that was used by it but rather bring it to light and let the powers to be make sure there will be a level playing field for all from this day forth.

The past is just that, behind us, those that abused will live with it, we can now say that future game play will be the ability of the pilot or squad against there opponent without an edge.

We can't ask for anything more then that, we want a place to play that we all know that something that will be used and abused against all gamers will be dealt with and corrected in an honorable way.

It does hurt to find something but more so if it tries to be swept under the carpet in hopes it goes away as this thread and feelings eventually will.

I concur with Shrapnel and Stealth,

Salute

How to do this is being discussed openly in the UK forums.  Evidently it was discovered by accident, but the moral stickler is that it was never passed on to the rest of us who play, just used against the rest of us who play.

The argument that u could get the information on damage, position, speed, angle or even type of aircraft from other sources and that it wouldn't make much difference is very weak.  Knowing this little key combination and unlocking the ability to see anything about anyone, especially in a match, is pretty harrowing.  From what i can gather you could also see what they were looking at, or in otherwords who they were attacking.

There would be no more wondering whether they have WEP, there would be no more wondering if they were at full speed or roped and safe to attack, there would be no more wondering which dot on the radar was a flag.

It is such a great shame that so soon after a well run KTF league we can think that it didn't matter anyway, as 2 squads were using this every few minutes for the duration of every match.  I suspect i'm a bit overexcited about this atm and that i'll care less tomorrow.  We'll see.

Scrap the scores and start KTF and 4 squad over.

For those squads that did not use this feature, my hat off to you.

I am proud, that I can say, that TS did not use this (found out about this 2~3 days ago, in teams) and our wins and losses were based on our skills as pilots.

Oh, and my poor aim!  hehe

Where is the TS flag?

Grid Q 15

Alt?

5K

Everybody converge on grid Q 15

******************************************************
.................. sigh...............

I too found out about his two days ago and tried it in a private room with a couple of TS members.

I can see now, how this could give an unfair adv., to our/your opponent.

Maybe each squad should have at least one (1) member a sysops so that all squads are kept in the loop about things such as this.

Secrecy like this will divide our small communities.

Already the bickering and finger pointing has started................

You know as a new pilot, ive spent many hours perfecting a poor ability to fly with the best in here, I am proud of my ability to date. I think being aware of whats going on around me has been the biggest challenge, it seems to me that this is really a matter of pilots having pride and a good work ethic in trying to better your self  on a level playing field, so just like steroids there are people who use unfair advantage to take advantage. So having said that, it is what it is. Gunny

I am so disgusted while reading this and finding out about this CHEAT! pukeface

If any squad used this in KTF, THEY SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED!  mad5    Yes some of you said its the past but very funny this cheat came out after "KTF" was born and finished.  As far as other match play (4 squad). That squad should have to start from ZERO as other squads that DIDN'T CHEAT shall keep there score.  Starting over the whole thing is crazy.  The squads that used the CHEAT should pay for cheating by starting over.  Work your way back up like all the non CHEATERS.  I think this is going to be a problem in the future squad match play due to everyone thinking everyone els is CHEATING.  It is so disapointing to think anyone would use this in any match.  Makes me sick.

I agree with Hono, Every squad should have a pilot (rep) as a sysops.  Atleast 1 pilot in a squad should be qualified to be a sysops, if they abuse the tools then pull them and that squad voided the opportunity and privilege of having such tools.

I think its vital that every squad is in the loop of things like this so it can be caught faster, if it isnt,  then this game will soon diminish.  Having everyone (all squads) equal is the goal as this secret is unfair and dishonorable to the entire community!

Now when I enter a room (if I do anymore) all I will be thinking about is who is CHEATING!

All the fights, 1 vs 1, getting beat, was all for nothing as I look back on all of them because Im not sure if they were CHEATING!

Such bs......................................All squad that used it, I will hunt you ALL.

Del just explained it all, that's all we could ask for, only thing that bothers me is the quantity that knew, it is over now.

Even playing field, let the games begin, lol

TS never used this.. advantage.

?

@Tbar,

Now explain what you meant by that and the question mark, Slick

You better believe TS_Squadron never knew about it.

You think your going to discredit TS_Squadron?

I'm the worst pilot on TS_Squadron as far as ability but you couldn't even fill my gas tanks, hope to see you in the air, I will shoot you down on sight.

When I saw Tbar's post my immediate thought was "what is the ? mark for" because I could see it being interpreted in the way I think Honolulu is taking it.

Before feathers get too ruffled I think TBar should explain what the ? mark was meant to indicate. I don't think he was doubting Honolulu's claim that TS had not used the advantage. At least I hope he wasn't.

Perhaps you could enlarge on what your unspoken question was Tbar.

The debate in this topic, so far, has been civil and responsible. I would hate to see it degenerate into foundless accusations or any kind of flame war.

My thoughts........

It is cheating.  Why wouldn't we want to know who was using it?  Seriously?

It either needs to be turned off completely to everyone, or it needs to be turned on for everyone.  Anything else is BS.  Even if it is turned off you are still going to have people wondering if some people still have access to it.

I found out about it last night from some squadm8s who were very upset about it, and a couple are on vacation because of it.  I tried it......It definately gives an unfair advantage.

Oh yeah, those who are saying that you know for a fact that your squad never used it......
that's quite easy to say when it looks like no one will ever find out who did it.  So you can save it.

Did anyone on FD use it?  I don't think so, but I don't know for a fact.

Salute to Sandman and Tzu.

Ho,

My post was answering what I knew..and a challenge to any other squadron that could say the same as TS has said.. as well as what I said for BSS and AA.

I hold TS very high for ethics... never question.

That question mark.. was for others.

Salute!
