With my temporary internet problem(
dialup@26.4kbs) it was impossible to communicate my intention with my latest endevour at the Board meeting tonight and it seems some on the forums need more info also.
First let me explain why I chose the forum for this idea. I had no intention on changing the scope of the forums but rather to add to it's appeal. All of us spend as much if not more time in forums or chat rooms just as we do in Air Attack so this idea shouldn't harm the game itself. With all the bickering going on everywhere you turn around here and the forum needing some new blood I felt it was time to bring some FUN back into it. There was a time when we all would ride the log ride no matter where it was going,what happened to us? I come up with these ideas not for myself folks,it's all for you,I like to put smiles on peoples faces instead of frowns. Every idea I have will be based on Air Attack,I love this game,been here since FA 1.0 and want it to last as long as possible. We all have developed friendships over the years with many actually meeting in person,there is a bond we all share. We crave interacting with these friends whether its dogfighting,air racing or chatting in forums or teamspeak. Some are even using teamspeak to interact at other sites. They discussed bringing other games onboard tonight for us to choose from, I am all for that. In the old days I played this and another game called "Motor City Online" and spent just as much time in AA as I did in MCO,and still found time for work,lol. My last idea was to give people something different to do on a map that brought heated debate only to bring some fun into it while at the same time letting a rookie have just as good a chance to win as the seasoned veteran. It is now a USAAC fun event and hopefully someday it brings back some of those that left because of the map change. In the mean time it brought many smiles to many faces making me smile also.
This idea is for the forums,for awhile now they have been going down hill as more and more bickering and misunderstandings keep coming up leading to Moderators stepping in,Deleted posts,people quitting or getting banned and once friends now hating each other. Some say that this forum should be just for the US people,but isn't that predjudice? We all fly together,chat together so lets have fun together. I have been to all the forums. In the UK you have to be carefull(as an american) what you say,how you say it and make damn sure it's posted in the right place,lol. I went to GE and I couldn't understand a word of what was going on or what buttons to click. When I got to the Korean one,let me tell you,I was scared,how can they read those things? We have the US forum already in place so why not use it to have fun as well as report on the fun?
I have a few more ideas that will come in time and all have one objective-->Have Fun. Think of this new one as an old fashioned chat room where you had to wait for them to type it in and hit send but with a twist. Everybody in Air Attack is a celebrity so anyone could be asked to be a guest on Bonz's BoneYard to answer some fun questions,of course a few serious ones too,lol,by myself and the audience. Each question has to contain the letters "AA" or the words "Air Attack" in them but the guest can answer with any words. I don't know if this will work ok or be slow and backup,we will see. If not,then it's back to the drawing board. I think the interest is there but needs some fine tuning. Check out my post in Fun Event section for more info.
I want to touch on one more subject. It saddens me to know that the discussion on my idea to have fun with everyone has caused animosity amongst some of our friends.
PLEASE boys and girls,Put the whipping sticks down and lets start having fun again. A life without fun is empty,A life with fun is full.
