About argentinians living in USA it depends on what do you do for living Tullamore.....

For example in Argentina most doctors are not rich as in USA.....we are a lot......1/250ppl....Doctors here are well educated and we are succesful in countries like USA cause we are trained to asist  patients with a whole view....not only watching at the part of the body in the one we are specialists.

But if you are not a profesional....as many argentinians that went to USA in '80s and some part of '90s they thought that earning for example 3000 or 4000 U$S they could live and save money ....... that's a lot of money here but not in the USA. So in a short time they came back.

"I don´t think they come because of your health care system in the very first place."

Tulla,

Ask the Canadians about that, they come to the USA for better Health care, I know quite a few.

Hawk, you can hardly entitle the canadians as illegal immigrants or ´aliens´.

I´ve read the link, Hono provided too: http://www.theadvocates.org/freeman/8903lemi.html

So the canadians come to pay cash for a better treatment because it´s rather impossible to do so in their own country, because they´re bonded to the public system by law. Unlike germans who´re having a choice.

It only confirms that the US american health care system favors the ´wealthy´.

Ah, I see. Seems to be similar everywhere. In Germany we have many kurdish and turkish citizens, sending the money they earned in Germany, home to Turkey because it´s more worth there. So this money does not flood back in the german economy but in the turkish economy instead. Somewhat annoying but legal. (guess, I´d do the same, because when I´ve earned something by my hands work, it´s mine and I can decide where - and what I want to spend it on)

Yes, the USA is still the land of the opportunity in many regards but you also have to live with alot of differences and restrictions, you don´t have in your home country. It´s not all solid gold there, so it isn´t over here.
