Hi friends! I hope that I can address all of you as such. I, at least, count each one of you as a friend and that's what I'm here to talk about today.

Ever since I started playing air attack again so many years ago, the one thing that keeps bringing me back are all of you. I enjoy the friendly and sometimes playful banter that goes on between a group of players having fun. Occasionally, however, there are some cross words and a rare argument. I think most of this ensues due to a breakdown in communication more often than anything else and that brings me to the heart of my discussion.

Often I wonder if my chat messages in the game arenas are being accidentally misconstrued by some pilots, leaving a bad impression of myself. At other times when I'm being seemingly hunted over and over by the same player I wonder if they just keep coming because I'm an easy kill (nothing personal, just business) or if the player behind that screen name has an actual grudge against me for some reason. Do any of you ever reflect on thoughts such as these?

Anyways, I just want to clear the air, so-to-speak, and state that I do not currently nor have I ever had any negative issues with ANYONE who plays this game EVER. I understand that there are a number of feuds and squabbles amongst some of the players of AirAttack. Some of these may be born of personal differences between individual pilots and others seem to be inter-squadron related. Let me just say that I don't care about NONE of that jive.

My name is Mike. I'm a friendly guy. I fly for fun and that is all.  thumbsup

Mike (AKA Scarecrow ).

I for one really appreciate your message. I too have the same feelings and thoughts at times. There is and never has been anyone in this game I didn't like or could not work with (Save one person).

I thin sometimes that the 'written word" in games is a very dangerous thing. We all know and have spoke of this before. One can tell another player to "go to hell" on Team Speak and everyone.. I mean everyone in that room knows its a joke and funny and meant to be playful. But type that message .. and it could be a whole different interpretation. USAAC does supply Team Speak.. but then every Squad has their own so the problem is really not resolved. Typing.. in game.. can be very dangerous as it is mis-understood constantly.

Yep, I knows what you mean Scarecrow, Written words do get misconstrued from time to time.  With out the voice inflection, the spoken word far out weights the written.  However not all of us can be on the same Team Speak  while it would be fun to possibly mandate that only one should be used ans have everyone using it, it is far from practical I assume.

I have met many people here in the few short years I have been playing this game.  I know that when I took the tag name of "JoKeR", I met quite a few more who thought I was someone else and I was targeted for quite a while till they found out I was actually someone else.

It's not always just the tag name, it could be something as silly as a phrase that someone use that sets people off.  Its not a perfect world, but we try to do the best we can.

Tbar: Good words!!!!  P.S. need help with USAAC TS 2.

Temper:  I luv you 2!

Tulla:  Shut the HECK up!!!!  Cool

Let's play ball!!!

Ya I have to agree, when I didn't have teamspeak and could only type I hated Tango for what he was typing me but when I got it and heard him say it I still hated him, so I joined his squad.biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

But seriously scarecrow we do have to be carefull what we type,we have many different cultures together in a war game, bound to clash in misunderstandings. Many of us have played this game and communicated with each other for many years,I go back to FA days at the zone,Ge,Korea, etc. and we are a unique bunch with one common bond,Air Attack. Our communications have added a personal touch forming friendships from afar. Teamspeak is the the Best thing I have experienced, only finally being able to get it in last year or so,it has added a whole new dimension to chat. I never dreamed I would be talking to people all over the world,if you talk to somebody in Australia or Korea it's tomorrow, lol. When you can hear what they are saying you will have a different out take on it m8. Of course though, lol, there are a few that are merciless and less than honorable but you get to know who they are and steer clear of them, let the hotshots take em out. We all like family, but brothers do fight, lol. Cool
