ive seen all those offenses, but i knew they were new to the game . and they didn't know any better . ive crashed many times over the years . the dirt just came up to quick in a turn, said sorry and kept on flying no harm no fowl. i have seen people far out see me and crash that was obvious . chased some in to AA seen them fire at nothing below 2k over base that to is obvious. so they both can be proven. but if you get a sorry after , just give them a be careful and go about your business. as for runwaying and AFK i do try to get it over to the side so unless its a m8 having some fun witch i don't mind and do laff at . i do get a little peeved cause i do say AFK or BRB and make sure people saw it before i go. but accidents do happen and a simple sorry sets me strait. i had an incident yesterday a pilot hit me on the runway sysops warned the guy, i saw that he tried to pull up at last second but didn't make it. i told the sysops and he said ok np got my sorry from the pilot and everybody was happy. good job sysops . most of the old timers just know what you should and shouldn't do . between them leading by example, and the coc for everybody to see the new people will get it right. so the sysops are there for ones that don't belong here anyway. i think all the new rules should stay because they tell the new people , this is what we consider fare play and they wont break them in the first place.

Let me ask this, I prolly will get my arse reemed, but I am a big boy.
FFA is the Free For All arena, right? Well if your going to a free for all, why have all these rules? I never have liked FFA, I don't like the concept, as till I started AA I always flew with a wing man or 2, I was so happy when Teams came on line!
In WWII we and they runwayed every chance available, hell it was war!
This is a war similuation! you want rules set up an Geneva convention for POW's!
just my thoughts on this subject, the escaping is the only one i agree with, that is a cheat, crashing I have smacked the ground so many times to avoid an opponent, but not on purpose just lack of flying skills and SA.

I like all the rooms and events and rules are needed to keep some sort of order. In Free For All it is chaotic at times but as fun as hell. Even though runwaying and spawning are against the COC there are people who do it all the time in FFA and some do it in Team rooms. Some people just have no respect for others, not much anyone can do about that. Usually the people that do those things are doing it because their skill level doesn't allow them to advance their rank in a normal fashion. Don't let their behavior turn yourself into one of those people, you will get better and some day be the one downing them time after time the respectable way. There are alot of good pilots that see and deal with the unrespectable ones on a deadly level. I do agree with you that FFA should just be that,FFA,no rules in this room would be awesome, but also could be very dicouraging to the rooky. No matter what there will always be the complainers and whiners that do unrespectable things, don't get mad,get even.
Maybe they should add an "Anything Goes Free For All Room", so we could get even easier, lol.

FFA means just that: Free For All
FFA doesn´t mean FoR: Free of rules.
Not long ago there was a room for ´Anything Goes´ on a regular basis, as a private arena. It was only sparsely populated. The guy who suggested - and did set it up, gave up after a couple times. No attraction.

Man you got that one right!
I just distain the FFA concept, Why be in a squad if your going to be in FFA?
One rule I forgot to adress is the chidding over comms, actualy that one should be a given and for the most it is adheared to, but there are egos and spoiled sports out there and it happens.
I believe in the Squad concept and the use of tactics with a wingman!
Now if you want FFA to work with few hassles make it Allied VS. German, if you shoot a fellow Allied or German you get the boot! Thats fun!
Not the Nude mud wrestling that this FFA is.

Nowhere in "Free For All" does it say "Teams",if you like the team concept then stay in "Team" rooms. Not trying to be a wise*ss,just saying stick to the rooms you are comfortable with. The "Free For All" room is a good place to release your frustrations from a bad day,it is fast paced, cut throat, back stabbing all american fun. Even though some might not like it others do and it deserves to stay. Sometimes the "Team" room gets so slow paced I doze off in the sky only to be awaken with the zap, zap, zap from someones bullets shooting me down, but I don't say there should be no boring "Team" rooms, lol.

This is off topic, but J, when do you actually play? It just dawned on me that I haven't seen you in any room in a long time.

Well Temp i have been down for a while, I bought a crap stick that is in many pieces now!!!!! Just could not fly with the damn thing! Caused many probs in matches and I just grounded myself for the sake of the Squad, now I have a usb adaptor for my trusty Sidwinder pro and you will see more of me in teams and matches, not in FFA!
Bonz I did not think you were a smart arse! We all have our opinoins and I was expressing mine, 2 squad is comming on line and Thorn has been working on tactics, so I have reported back to duty!

Well I respect your opinion also j69o. Just one thing,you said;

You don't like nude mud wrestling? lol It's really quite fun, lol, until the fat girl pulls you into the mud, lol.
Back to the subject that we are slowly losing sight of. COC,some of these things are suggestions for being courteous and aren't actually rules. Maybe they should be. It's unfortunate that freedom is the basic right desired by almost every human being yet disrespect for others by some forces rules to be implimented that destroy the very freedoms we all seek. If you can find a way to make everyone courteous, respectful and kind then you may be on your way to world peace, but I feel that is an impossible task m8.

Oh don't get me wrong! I rather enjoy nude mud wrestling, even with the fat girl!
Let me give you some back ground on me, in 95 I was flying in Air Warrior and Flying Circus(both defunked now) AW was WWII and FC WWI I perfered FC for the honor that the pilots had for eachother there (yes it can happen) I worked my way up in the squad from OPS to XO, from the beginning I was in charge of comming up with tactial applications.
I am not blowing my own horn here, its what I did.
That is why i hold FFA in distain, no tactics no planning no nothing, except fly and die!
For a Tactial mind that is inherently wrong! I find no pleasure in it!
If you enjoy that secnario, go nuts have fun and enjoy!
Just not my Ballywick M8.
On the otherside of the coin is the fact that all of you here have learned to fly in FFA, so you have that mindset, thats your Ballywick and I am not here to piss in your Wheaties! I just feel this way from my expeirence.
Now going off topic on 12-09-09 my home squad (
www.99thastag.com
) will be 10 years old, we are going to celebrate by a online reunion on Aces High (
www.hightechcreations.com
) in their new WWI sim, all are welcome to join us as oppisition or under the 99th moniker. They have a free 2 week trial and the DL is easy, just have plenty of ram and a good stick!
Till then I am Looking foward to flying with my UK M8's in Thorn.
One each snappy @^^ salute J

FFA is a completely different animal than Teams.
They both have the pros and cons.
For me personally, I learned my combat skills in FFA where you have to be able to kill quickly, keep and eye on all others and have good idea on what each plane can do.
Learing your SA (situational awareness) has proved to be most benefical in FFA. Becoming proficient in your aim and ability to avoid oncoming fire has also improved from flying in FFA.
I use FFA for fun, quick warm up or for a session in using all I have learned.
In teams, we usually rely on a wingman to help us when we encounter the enemy and it is not near as fast paced. It may be more strategic in teams than FFA but to do well in FFA I feel your skill level needs to be better on a individual basis where as in teams you can reply on your teammates to help with any enemy encounter.
There are tactics in FFA. Just different than in teams to some degree. Give FFA a honest try to see if you can improve some of the things I mentioned above. It will make you a better pilot when you can master furballs and getting a kill or so then running away from furball to gain alt and come back again with advantage.
Cheers...
